Tijen Yalchin, R.Ac., RMT.
Tijen Yalchin graduated from the Canadian Therapeutic College in 2005 where she received her diploma in Massage and Hydrotherapy. In 2009, she obtained her diploma in Acupuncture from the Institute of Traditional Medicine. Additional schooling includes a three week clinical internship in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), were Tijen graduated in 2012 from the Zhejiang College of TCM in Hangzhou, China, one of the top three TCM colleges in the world. In 2016 The Canadian Institute of Ashiatsu Massage Therapy has certified Tijen and she now offers Ashiatsu Barefoot Massage Therapy.
Tijens passion for traditional healing developed at the tender age of 17, where she began to volunteer at the Centre of International Holistic Studies. This is where she was first introduced to traditional methods of healing, which have been used for millennia.
Her work and volunteer experience varies tremendously. From Hamilton Health Sciences, Sick Kids Hospital, Patients with Aids clinic in Toronto, and has traveled to Guatemala in 2010 and Nepal in 2015 on an International Community Medicine Project. Tijen continues to extend her knowledge to those in need through her volunteer work. In addition to this, she has worked alongside the Hamilton Tiger Cats, various chiropractors, hospitals, and spas. She also has traveled worldwide to Italy, Monaco, France, Bermuda, all over North America.
Tijen is a Registered Massage Therapist and an Acupuncturist who additionally offers, Ashiatsu Massage (barefoot massage), Hot Stone Massage, Reflexology, Indian Head Massage, Reiki, Ear Cone Candling and is also the first certified Canadian to offer Mei Zen cosmetic acupuncture.
Tijen incorporates an emotional connectedness and grounding with her clients, which has been promoted by her regular attendance to drum circles, painting and her willingness to live her life to the fullest.
ASHLEY SHORT, CNP., CH.
Ashley is a Certified Holistic Nutritionist & Clinical Herbalist who loves to teach her clients the importance of eating whole foods & utilizing nature for all that it has to offer.
In 2012 Ashley graduated at the Institute of Holistic Nutrition, receiving her diploma as a Certified Holistic Nutritionist (CNP). Nearing the end of her studies, Ashley began to experience obscure symptoms, leaving her diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis at the age of 27.
Ashley’s passion for natural health modalities and teachings, left her question her personal diagnosis. With her strong belief in following a holistic lifestyle, Ashley dedicated her time researchingand meeting with other holistic healthcare practitioners. One year later Ashley discovered she had Lyme Disease. A debilitating disease which left her bed bound and in a wheelchair, unable to find a doctor in Canada who would treat her.
Ashley’s personal journey and experiences left her determined to figure out a way to improve her health, using whole food sources, complimentary therapies and Herbal Medicine.
She began creating meal plans, herbal blends specifically for her needs and developed a Cannabis skincare line that would help decrease her chronic pain & inflammation.
As her health improved, Ashley began an apprenticeship with Sharon Kopinak, Holistic Veterinary Clinic, where she expanded her knowledge in natural modalities and herbal medicines.
Experiencing how affective Herbal Medicine was in her own health, Ashley enrolled at The Institute of Traditional Medicine for Western Herbal Medicine in 2015. A few months into her studies she enrolled in a internship at The Vajra Varahj Health Clinic located in Nepal to offer Nutrition and Herbal services to the community before and after the 2015 Earthquake.
In 2016, Ashley graduated at The Institute of Traditional Medicine, receiving her diploma as a Clinical Herbalist (CH)
